B.U.F.F. Player Handbook
Playing an organized pick up style game in a rented facility creates unique constraints. Because our time on the court is limited, we don't have all day to argue fouls, shoot do or dies, play out overtimes, etc. Because of this we have created unique rules that hopefully resolves many of our problems in a fair and challenging way.
Because B.U.F.F. is a friendly league it is important that everyone also understands the limits of competitiveness.
The Basic Premises of B.U.F.F.
In B.U.F.F. we hold the following assumptions to be the foundation of the B.U.F.F. honor system from which all is built upon:
All B.U.F.F. members are honorable and trustworthy. If the Commissioner has any reason to feel any player is less than honorable, it is the Commissioner’s prerogative to waive (Fade) those players.
All foul calls are to be honored. There is no reason to doubt or argue a player’s foul call. Grievances about ticky tack or bad calls can be filed with the Commissioner or any of the M.O.B committee. If a player develops a reputation for making bad or unjust calls, the Commissioner will investigate. If a player is found guilty of conduct detrimental to the welfare of B.U.F.F. the Commissioner reserves the right to “Fade” that player.
Good Sportsmanship Rules
B.U.F.F. is not "Win at all Costs". Defense and offense must be played within the constraints of good sportsmanship.
Trash talking, hand-checking, overly aggressive or annoying play are prohibited. Violators are subject to dismissal. Face guarding, annoying screaming and yelling, charging bull feints and intentional fouling is discouraged.
Displays of bad temper, challenging another's manhood, arguing etc are prohibited and subject to suspension or dismissal.
