the three most important rules in B.U.F.F.
1. Reply Promptly to Game Invitations – It
takes a lot of time to organize a B.U.F.F. game. Game invitations are time sensitive. I usually give two days to reply to the
initial game invitation that is posted on the BUFF website. I usually like subs to reply within one to two
days. The more prompt you are, the more
likely I am to call upon you as a sub. If you need more time to reply due to scheduling
issues please let me know and I’ll let you know if I can give you more time to
reply. Your quick replies are greatly
appreciated. Forgetfulness or being too
busy to reply is not a valid excuse. If you want to play, make it a priority to
reply quickly.
2. Keep your cool –I’ve been subtle about it in the past but now I’m going to state it very clearly, any acts of unsportsmanlike conduct are subject to suspension or expulsion. B.U.F.F. has a Zero Tolerance Rule regarding unsportsmanlike conduct.
If you cannot control your temper, go outside (far away from me) and let off some steam. If you violate the tranquil, friendly environment of B.U.F.F. I may not invite you to the next game….or maybe any other games (The B.U.F.F. Fade).
3. Be Punctual and Reliable – Arriving at the gym on time is crucial. There may be other groups playing immediately after us so it is important that we start and finish on time. If you are in the first game of the day, 100% reliability is expected. There are usually no subs hanging around the gym at 8 am so if your tardiness causes a delay in starting the game, you impact every person and every game that day.

- I recommend arriving at the gym at least 30 minutes before your scheduled game time to allow you time to get suited up and warmed up. If the game is starting and you are still on the sidelines in your flip flops drinking your coffee and not even suited up yet, everyone has the right to be upset at you.
- When people are late and the start of a game is delayed, the games at the end of our reservation time are the ones that get shortened; this is not fair to the guys playing the later games. Be considerate to everyone, don’t be late.
- If you miss the start of your game you will not be subbed in until half-time.
- If you are the type of person who can’t get up in the morning please take extra measures to make sure you wake up on time. If you are late for your first game don’t blow off both of your games, that would be very inconsiderate and puts me and everyone else in a bad situation.
